This cozy, homemade pumpkin spice latte recipe uses real pumpkin, pumpkin spice, maple syrup, and plant-based milk and collagen for a classic fall drink that’s lower in sugar and free from unnecessary additives.

If you’re like me, you love the comforting flavor of a pumpkin spice latte. But chances are, you’re not a fan of all the sugar and extra ingredients packed into most store-bought versions. That’s why I created this homemade pumpkin spice collagen latte. It’s simple (all you need is 5 ingredients!) nourishing, and on repeat at my house all fall long.
Not only does this latte give you that creamy, warm pumpkin spice flavor you crave, but with the addition of Great Lakes Wellness Collagen (20% off applied with this link!), it also supports your hair, skin, nails, joints, and gut health. It’s a small, easy upgrade that makes your morning ritual even more powerful.
While some coffee shops have started cleaning up their ingredients, nothing beats making your own at home. It’s better for your body and your wallet. Pro tip: make a batch of the pumpkin spice base ahead of time so you can whip up this latte in minutes all week long.
Why Add Collagen?
I love sneaking collagen into my daily routine because it’s such an effortless way to support whole-body wellness. Here’s why I add 2 scoops of Great Lakes Wellness Collagen (save 20%)to this latte:
- Supports skin, hair & nails → collagen is the main structural protein in your body.
- Promotes joint health & mobility → especially important during busy seasons of life.
- Boosts gut health → collagen peptides help strengthen and repair the gut lining.
- Easy to mix & flavorless → dissolves seamlessly into hot drinks without altering taste or texture.
Adding collagen is one of those simple habits that pays off over time. I add it to my coffee in the morning and sneak it into other recipes for a boost of functional benefits.
As far as brands go, I love Great Lakes Wellness. They’re been around for nearly 100 years (1922!!) and in 2009, they pioneered the first cold-water-soluble collagen hydrolysate, also known as collagen peptides. Their collagen fully dissolves into any liquid so seamless, you’ll forget it’s there. Plus, it’s backed by clinical research and third-party testing to guarantee quality, safety, and effectiveness in every serving.

Why I Recommend Caffeine After Breakfast
I always suggest enjoying caffeine after breakfast rather than on an empty stomach. Here’s why: caffeine on an empty stomach can spike cortisol (our stress hormone), disrupt blood sugar balance, and leave you with jitters, an energy crash, or digestive discomfort.
By pairing your latte with a balanced breakfast—protein, healthy fats, and fiber—you give your body the nourishment it needs to handle caffeine without the stress. So, sip this latte alongside or after your morning meal for the most hormone-friendly approach.
