It feels like a thousand pound weight is off my shoulders. I presented my thesis Monday to my committee and I passed! (what a relief!) I submitted my research to The Journal of Human Nutrition and Dietetics and it is now under review. Whether or not it’s accepted is up to the selection committee of the journal, but that has none of my worries. Right now, I am enjoying this moment of achievement and the joy that comes with making it to the finish line.
Finally, I feel as if I am able to take a deep breath and relax after this whirlwind of a year. I am completely committing myself to living in the present and enjoying this moment. Twelve months of dietetic internship and masters classes kept me going in full gear, non-stop. There were long days, time consuming assignments, waves of emotions and numerous tears. But I can now say I have my Masters in Nutrition Therapy. I sit hear smiling as I’m typing this and cannot help but feel so grateful for the wonderful support system who have given me this opportunity to follow my dream of being a dietitian and given me the motivation and encouragement for when times got tough. Thank you mom, dad and Ben for being this support system and standing by my side through it all. I love you.
Today’s post is for a simple Cherry and Plum Smoothie that highlights some of the best produce at this moment. Taking advice from Jessie, that plums and cherries are simply meant for each other, I’ve paired these fruits with some fresh ginger and warming cinnamon giving it a flavor combination that is something to celebrate!
McKel’s cookbook was released this week! It’s basically a guide to living whole with a foundation in eating simple real foods. Something I stand behind 100%.
Something I don’t think I can get behind is animal-free dairy milk. It’s made of all the components of cow’s milk, just none of the cows (wait, what?). While all this science is pretty fascinating, can we stop manipulating DNA and just get back to eating food the way it was intended to be??
Recovery is a practice. This post resonated with me and I know so many can relate to it. Thanks Gena for opening up and sharing this beautifully honest post.
This is easily the best Instagram account. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!
I’m head over heels over this beautiful chandelier that is hand cut and arranged in a geometric pattern by skilled Filipino artisans.
Making a house a home is something that takes time. In the meantime, I’m all over bringing as much good energy into my new space as possible. Here are some tips I’ve been using to keep the positive vibes flowing.
I’d love to go over to Ashlae’s for bunch and have each of these breakfasts made with muesli.
Lindsey’s peanut butter cups are a modern take on the classic (must keep this in mind for holiday gifting).
I am drinking this Raspberry Fig Mocktail everyday until fig season is over.
