Nourished by Nutrition is my guide to a nourished lifestyle! I’m a twenty-something year old, with a B.S. in Nutrition & Dietetics who is passionate about living a mindful life. This lifestyle encompasses whole living and balance in all aspect of life, with nutritious food being the foundation. I hope to encourage you to embrace a wholesome lifestyle by sharing recipes, nutrition tips and showing you just how simple and delicious a healthy lifestyle can be!
I have a passion for healthy eating and practicing a balanced lifestyle. I love to experiment in the kitchen, especially with baking! Coming up with healthier versions of everyone’s favorites is one of my favorite things to do. Just being in the kitchen is my stress relief. Along with my passion for healthy food, I also have a passion for exercise. I love running, spinning, yoga, Pilates, you name it! It’s the endorphins…they’re addicting! I believe moderation is key, in eating and in all aspects of life, and once we find this balance everything becomes a lot easier!
I have to say, I didn’t have one of those “ah ha” moments that made me do a 180, finally realizing the importance of nutrition. I’m lucky that healthy eating has just been part of the foundation on which I was raised. This can be attributed to my mom who is a Nutritionist herself. She is my role model and the one who first taught me the importance of proper nutrition, staying active, and most importantly, following your dreams.
My goal for Nourished by Nutrition is to share my enthusiasm for healthy eating and nutrition with others, showing everyone just how simple and delicious it can be! I hope that by sharing my recipes, nutrition information and advice, I’ll be able to make connection and gain a following so that I can share my passion with a broad range of people and inspire others to adopt a healthy lifestyle.
WHAT YOU WILL FIND
In this blog you will find plant-based recipes, most of which can be classified as vegetarian or vegan. The recipes are also easy and relatively quick. I hope to provide a variety, incorporating fresh seasonal produce and of course, superfoods!
I know that preparing a meal, whether it be dinner or a snack, is often tedious and time-consuming, since most American’s live a fast-paced, not-enough-minutes-in-the-day lifestyle. With that being said, I will also share alternative ideas such as “grab and go” snacks/meals that utilize some of my favorite healthy, minimally processed packaged foods. (Yes, I’m all for eating clean and unprocessed as much as possible, but sometimes there are days that just isn’t possible). For me, having a yogurt and a granola bar or a nut pack in my purse is a life saver!
Food and nutrition is an ongoing field of research, but thankfully I love learning about it! I’ll do my best to stay up-to-date with all the new research and latest trends. However, because of my upbringing, I will always turn back to my strong foundation that supports a wholesome plant-centered diet consisting of mainly vegetables, fruits, beans, legumes, nut and seeds.
