A sparkling screwdriver cocktail recipe made with fresh squeezed Sunkist® Minneola tangelos, sparkling water and vodka. It’s an elevated take on the classic screwdriver cocktail with a non-alcoholic option using zero-proof botanicals!
4 ounces (½ cup) Sunkist® Minneola tangelo juice, from (about 1 Sunkist® Minneola tangelo)
1.5 ounces (3 tablespoons) vodka or zero-proof botanical (see notes)*
3 ounces (⅓ cup) sparkling water or club soda, plus more if desired
Ice
Optional garnishes: Sugar, pink salt, edible flowers, or thin orange slices
If garnishing with a sugar + salt rim, place 2 tablespoons of sugar and 1/2 teaspoon salt on a small plate. Dampen the rim of the glass with the fresh squeezed Minneola tangelo juice. Place the rim into the sugar mixture and move the rim around in a circular motion until coated.
Combine the fresh Minneola tangelo juice and vodka or zero-proof botanical in a 10-12 ounce glass or highball glass. Add about four large ice cubes. Top with the 3 ounces or more of sparkling water or club soda. Garnish with edible flowers or orange slices, if desired.
Non-alcoholic option: replace the vodka with a zero-proof botanical like Proteau, Ritual or Seedlip, or additional club soda or sparkling water. If simply using club soda or sparkling water, I recommend a flavored sparkling water. Citrus, berry or tropical flavors pair well with the Minneola tangelo juice.
