Happy New Year!
This post is a little overdue, but 2018 snuck up on me as I’m sure it did for some of you also. I took some time off creating content and regular posting over the holidays to focus on being present and enjoying time with family. While this was wonderful and very necessary, 2018 has gotten off to a slower start than I had anticipated. Between a ten day vacation, wedding planning (!!), contracting a new job, and taking care of my mom post-surgery, I haven’t been able to be as active on this space or Instagram as I had set out to be in the New Year.
Instead of getting overwhelmed and discouraged of not meeting my expectations, I’ve been shifting my mindset and reminding myself that it’ll all be okay. This change in direction is really helping me practice flexibility and reevaluate my strategy. All of which I know will ultimately benefit this space in the long run.
Despite the slow start, I have big goals for this space and lots of projects in the works. And I hope you stick around to see them take place!! You are the reason I do this and I’m so grateful for you taking your time to read this! I want to make sure I am creating content that is valuable to you and ultimately helps you live a healthier more balanced life (more on this below!!).
So, here’s what you can expect from Nourished by Nutrition in 2018!
Slow Start to the New Year
Bare with me as this New Year gets off to a slow start. Contracting a freelance project with a short deadline is forcing me to shift all focus towards the project for the next couple of months. While this wasn’t ideal for growing the community and my plans for 2018, it was a decision I had to make to be able to start to function from a place of financial security. This shift is reinforcing that life rarely goes as planned and teaching me to embrace flexibility. By March I hope to be back to regularly scheduled content and begin working on a couple large projects I cannot wait to share with you!
New Look, Bigger Mission
You might have noticed the new look here on Nourished by Nutrition. This minimalist redesign was apart of my work with WellSeek on brand clarity and business strategy. My goal is to move forward into the wellness space and cover more whole-person lifestyle content. Whole food, plant-based recipes will still be a large part of Nourished by Nutrition but the reality is you are so much more than just the food you eat. While I truly believe food is the foundation for health, focusing on the 8 Elements of Balanced Living is key to living your best life. I’ve revamped my lifestyle philosophy page for you to learn more about this approach to wellness and a whole food, plant-based foundation.
Embracing “Live Balance. Be You”
Along with the whole-person approach to health and wellness, I’m fully embracing my new tagline, “Live Balanced. Be You.” This is the message I wish I could have lived by throughout high school and college and is still something I am constantly reminding myself of daily. It’s the message I want to spread and want each and every post to fully embody. As much as I want Nourished by Nutrition to inspire and be a nutrition and lifestyle resource for you, I want even more so, for you to slow down and tune in to what works best for you. It’s so easy to get caught up in what we think we “should” be doing based on the latest trends or what other influencers are doing. And while it’s okay to be inspired, curious, and try new things, you have to do it from the right place. This starts with self-acceptance and letting go of comparison. You are beautifully unique. Embrace it!
Recipe and Lifestyle Content
Recipes: Get ready for more whole-food, plant-based recipes that are rooted in simplicity. As much as I love cooking, I understand that most are just looking for quick, healthy meals. If you are busy and want to eat well, I’ve got you covered! There will be more focus on meal prep and cooking components which will help inspire you to use one ingredient a variety of different ways. Eating well can be quick and simple, and I can’t wait to show you how!
Lifestyle Content: More content based on the 8 Elements of Balanced Living. Nourished by Nutrition will focus on a whole-person approach to wellness and helping you create balance so you are living your best life. I’m excited to bring more nutrition and wellness topics to life here on the blog and give you action steps to take to make those elements work for you!
