I apologize for being so nonexistent in the blogging world lately! Between school, work, exercise, finding “me time” and spending time with the one’s I love, my schedule’s been pretty hectic. When I started Nourished by Nutrition, I promised myself that I wouldn’t get so wrapped up in blogging that I would let my school-work get put on the back-burner. So far I’ve been keeping my promise, but it has been quite a challenge! I’d so much rather be trying out new recipes, baking yummy desserts, taking pictures and sharing them all with you, than reading about Medical Nutrition Therapy and Foodservice Management. But then again blogging won’t get me a degree, and you wouldn’t want me rambling on about how “I should be studying right now”. With these next few weeks dying down a little I hope to spend a little more time updating the site!!
In the past few weeks of being a blog-bystander, I’ve come across these absolutely incredible snack cookies!
Nature’s Bakery Fig Bars are these simple, wholesome, 100% natural fruit filled cookies. They’re made with stone ground whole wheat flour and filled with They are cholesterol, dairy, and trans fat free. Along with being kosher and non-GMO.
Who remembers Fig Newton’s??? OK. Think of those, but 110% better!!
Anddd they come in 8 different flavors. Fig, Apricot Peach, Raspberry, Strawberry, Blueberry and Apple Cinnamon are the only ones at my local grocery store, but they also have lemon, mango!
By far my favorite has been the Apricot Peach. As you bite into the soft, dense cookie, you are hit with the intense flavor of the peach-apricot combo. It’s sweet but in a natural soft of way and by no means overwhelming. The sticky fruit filling pairs perfectly with the wholesome wheat flavor of the actually cookie. Two little squares comes conveniently packaged so you can take them anywhere! These little cookies are the perfect ending to a lighter lunch or a great accompaniment to your afternoon coffee.
Finally a sweet afternoon snack you can feel good about!
I recommend Nature’s Bakery Fig Bars for all of you with a sweet-tooth. It definitely is a healthier cookie choice that you can feel go about!
