Nourish is my word for the New Year.
- Nourish: verb. nour·ish \ˈnər-ish, ˈnə-rish\ : to provide (someone or something) with food and other things that are needed to live, be healthy, etc. : to cause (something) to develop or grow stronger
2016 is a year to nourish. I am setting an intention to nourish my mind, body and spirit in order to create a stronger foundation from which I can develop and grow. As I go about my daily activities and routines, I want to develop into a stronger, more whole individual. I believe that by focusing on goals for my mind, body and spirit, it will give me the opportunity to develop in more ways than one, with each part having a synergistic effect on each other.
FOR MY MIND | I will make time daily to quite my mind through meditation and reflection.
FOR MY BODY | I will practice yoga daily and listening and acting appropriately on how I feel.
FOR MY SPIRIT | I will focus on seeing the positive in all situations and keeping my negative thoughts to myself, letting them pass by only briefly.
FOR THE BLOG | As 2016 is my year to nourish, I am planning on building a stronger foundation for Nourished by Nutrition. I want to build a strong resource for how-to’s and go-to’s that are simple, delicious and make you feel wonderful. I am going to focus on building up the basics but incorporating numerous recipes that that are creative and have you wanting to make them again and again. In 2016 you will see an emphasis on fresh, seasonal produce and recipes that are incredibly vibrant and nutrient dense. You will be seeing more concentrated superfoods that have been around for thousands of years but are now increasing in popularity. These will include whole foods, herbs and spices such as maca powder, spirulina, medicinal mushrooms, turmeric, ginger and many more, all which have incredible healing properties.
I am ready to take on 2016 and make it my best year yet! I hope you are ready to follow along and join in the fun of wholesome living. Make this your year to nourish!
Sending love and good vibes to all of you!
