To welcome in the New Year, I thought I’d share with you my “go to” afternoon snack. Every afternoon at about 3 o’clock the hunger-bangs start to hit and I usually turn to this cottage cheese, avocado and tomato snack to keep me satisfied until dinner. There is something unique about the creaminess of the avocado and texture of the cottage cheese that pairs perfectly with the tangy bursts of tomatoes that I can’t get enough of! To round of this snack, I eat mine with 3-seed spelt crackers and usually some hot chai green tea.
This snack is super satisfying and the simple ingredients are packed with nutrition!
Cottage cheese provides quite a bit of protein while the avocado contains fiber and healthy fats that will help curb your appetite. By pairing this off with a complex carbohydrate, such as my 3-seed spelt crackers (or another whole grain alternative) makes this a healthy, balanced snack.
