Food is essential. It provides us with energy needed to function, nourishing our cells with the required nutrients that replenish and rebuild our bodies at a cellular level everyday.
I believe eating a plant-based diet, consisting of whole and minimally processed foods, is they key to optimal health – science has shown us that eating a predominantly plant-center diet can do wonders for your health! This means the majority of what you consume is vegetables, fruits, beans, legumes, nuts and seeds. Animal protein and products (if consumed) are just additions to the already nutritiously complete meal! I believe that by choosing a more simple, wholesome way of eating, you are nourish yourself with the fuel your body needs, not just to function, but perform its best!
I know healthy food can and should be simple and delicious! The Nourished by Nutrition recipes are designed to nourish your body and leave you feeling incredible. The recipes you will find here are predominantly plant-based. This means the majority could be classified as vegetarian and/or vegan. Where as I encourage you to try these delicious recipes the way they are, I do make an effort to include variations, substations and additions where it see fit. This could be something as simple as adding an organic farm fresh egg, or sustainable caught salmon to replacing the feta with cashew cream. Also, I love and utilize superfoods in my recipes whenever possible! These include nutrient dense foods and powders, herbs, spices and dark chocolate! I love messing around with new ingredients and flavor combinations, while focusing on incorporating as many nutrients as possible. I’m sure you’ll find something you will love, so why not take a look!

I know the topic of nutrition can come across as confusing and overwhelming. I’m hoping you can use Nourished by Nutrition as a resource to help demystify this topic and help you adopt an overall wholesome lifestyle. I truly believe that a wholesome lifestyle, while rooted in nutrition, consists of more than nourishing your body with the appropriate foods. It also includes staying hydrate, getting enough beauty sleep, managing stress, exercising and staying physically fit, growing your spiritual well-belling, and developing positive relationship with others and most of all, yourself!
With that being said, mindfulness is key. This includes eating without deprivation. When we stop obsessing over numbers, the ideas of “good” and “bad” foods, and fad diets, and begin focusing on wholesome, minimally processed, natural ingredients to fuel ourselves, this is when we start to lay our foundation for balance in the other aspects of our lives. The Nourished by Nutrition lifestyle focuses on being mindful of what we are consuming so that we are nourishing our bodies with the most nutritious foods possible.
